Our Early Years Centre (EYC) offers a high quality, caring educational environment for its pupils. We follow the British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Curriculum with a ‘play’ based approach to learning and a strong emphasis on teaching care and concern for others, respect for cultural diversity and for ourselves. The EYFS Curriculum supports our own philosophy that children learn through active involvement with their environment.
The EYC includes our Little Lions (for children age 18m - 2y 6m), Pre Nursery (age 2y 6m-3 years), Nursery (age 3 to 4) and Reception (age 4 to 5) classes.
Our EYC is very well resourced, though the most important aspect of any school is of course the Staff. Our quality, well trained, caring and experienced EYC Team ensure that the children are happy, successful and thriving. We work together to achieve the best for each child. We follow UK statutory standards for staff to pupil ratio with a maximum of 1:10 in our Reception classes and much lower ratios in the younger years. Toddler classes are led by a class teacher, one teaching assistant and three Child Care Assistants. Pre-N classes are led by a class teacher, one teaching assistant and one Child Care Assistant. Nursery and Reception classes are led by a class teacher and one teaching assistant with a shared Child Care Assistant. Harrow Bangkok invests in staff training and supporting materials to ensure our children are given the best start.
The facilities in the EYC are excellent. We are sufficiently separate from the main school to provide a safe and nurturing environment for the children. In addition to very well sized classrooms and play areas, the EYC has separate playgrounds and dedicated areas for the different age groups, a soft play area, a Music Room, Dining Room, Thai Studies Room, adventure playground equipment and outdoor classroom spaces. We also have a full time nurse based in house. All Reception and Nursery classrooms are equipped with Interactive Whiteboards. PCs and iPads are also readily available for educational use in Reception and Nursery classrooms.
