Harrow Bangkok is an active member of FOBISIA, the regional federation of British international schools in Asia. In 2014-15 we hosted the inaugural FOBISIA Sailing Championships and the FOBISIA Golf Tournament. Our Head Master sits on the FOBISIA Executive Committee, facilitating regional professional development, and our School Community is strongly committed to the many aspects of FOBISIA activities.

FOBISIA events include the Sports Games, Short Story Competition, Secondary Music Festival, Primary Performing Arts Carnival and Model United Nations Conferences.
‘Through these activities students from different countries and cultures are able to interact and enjoy working together on common interests. They benefit from sharing ideas and challenges whilst at the same time developing camaraderie between our schools and making long lasting friendships’.  Shaun Williams, Chairman of FOBISIA 2012 to 14.

FOBISIA also organises conferences and workshops where teachers from across the region can meet to share good practice, swap ideas and receive professional training from invited university lecturers and consultants from around the world. These professional development events help to ensure teachers are up to date with the latest educational thinking and provide opportunities for them to study for further qualifications. A key component of these events is the facilitating of different teachers in different schools learning from each other.

The Federation serves as a regional voice on educational issues and makes informed contributions to the UK government on issues and policies affecting British schools overseas. Many of these contributions are submitted in association with other, similar regional organisations.
