Scholarships are an important aspect of provision we offer at Harrow Bangkok. Our scholarships generally have a monetary reward,
usually a reduction of school fees, but the primary aim of a scholarship is to recognise a student’s exceptional achievements.

Head Master’s Scholarship
The Head Master’s Scholarship is awarded to students who have made an outstanding contribution to the school community.
Head Master’s Scholars will display considerable talent in at least one area (music, sports, leadership in action etc.) and will
maintain an exceptional academic record.

The Head Master will meet each Scholar termly, reviewing academic results and contribution to the Community.
The Head Master’s Scholarship may not always be a monetary reward, receipt of the title ‘Head Master’s Scholar’ being a
considerable honour in itself.

Academic Scholarship
Academic Scholarships are awarded to students entering Harrow Bangkok who demonstrate high academic ability. This
potential will be measured by entrance test, specific subject tests, prior academic records and through interview/s with senior
staff. Academic Scholars usually benefit a monetary reward.

Sixth Form Scholarship
Sixth Form Scholarships are awarded to students progressing to, or entering, the Sixth Form. Recipients will demonstrate an
outstanding record of external examination performance (usually in GCSE/IGCSE).
The award of a Sixth Form Scholarship is itself an honour and existing Harrow students with very high amounts of A*/A grades
will usually benefit a small monetary reward in line with the criteria set for that academic year. New students entering the
Sixth Form who have met the criteria gain the title of scholar but do not receive the monetary award.

Music Scholarship
Music Scholarships are awarded to students entering Harrow Bangkok who demonstrate exceptional musical talent, and this
scholarship includes a School fee discount. This ability will be measured by audition, review of the candidate’s portfolio of prior
performances, and through interview/s with senior staff. Music Scholars are also required to meet all entrance criteria and to
demonstrate strong academic potential.

In most cases recipients of Music Scholarships will demonstrate exceptional talent across several instruments. If not, it may be
a requirement to learn and play a second instrument.

Maintenance of this award is subject to ongoing contribution to Harrow Bangkok’s extensive musical programme and to the
student successfully balancing this commitment with other aspects of school life, including academic performance.
Music Scholars usually benefit a monetary reward.

Boarding Scholarship
Boarding Scholarships are awarded to resident students (or new students intending to Board) who show that they have strong
leadership skills, a community ethos and the ability to act as a role model for the Boarding community. These abilities will be
measured by entrance test, prior academic records and through interview/s with senior staff.
Boarding Scholars usually benefit a monetary reward.

Sports Scholarship
Sports Scholarships are awarded to students entering Harrow Bangkok who demonstrate exceptional sporting talent. This ability
will be measured by sports trials, review of the candidate’s portfolio of prior sporting performances, and through interview/s
with senior staff. Sports Scholars are also required to meet all entrance criteria and to demonstrate strong academic potential.

It is a requirement of this Award to also play a second sport, though this may be started whilst in the school. Maintenance of this
award is subject to ongoing contribution to Harrow Bangkok’s extensive sporting programme and to the student successfully
balancing this commitment with other aspects of school life, including academic performance.

Sports Scholars usually benefit a monetary reward.
